DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY, NILOUFER HOSPITAL, HYD.

Started with a small lab in 1975 with simple instruments like a colorimeter and manual testing with an output of 200 tests/day, the Department of Biochemistry has transformed into a state-of-the-art lab doing > 4000 tests per day.

Our lab has been upgraded in 2016 with high-end instruments like Beckman Autoanalyzer, Siemens Chemiluminescence Autoanalyzer, Transasia Coagulometer, Electrolyte Analyzer, Biorad D-10, and semi-auto analyzers. Lab performance has shown tremendous improvement with an increase in the number of tests performed. This year, a total of 847,615 tests were done in our lab compared to the previous year where the number of tests was 662,781.

A total of 94 parameters are analyzed in our lab which includes routine clinical chemistry and special tests like hormones, vitamins, enzymes, and tumor markers. Testing parameters have increased with the inclusion of many special tests this year like tumor markers CA 125, CEA, AFP, and hormones like Cortisol, LH & FSH, CPK, LDH, Procalcitonin, Insulin, Homocysteine, iron, Ferritin, UIBC.

We are providing 24 hrs. lab services with decreased turnaround time (TAT). Many tests are reported within 30 minutes.
